Center for International Studies
The International Studies Program strives to prepare high
school students for college and careers that will take them across borders and
cultures with the attitudes, skills and knowledge of effective global
citizens. During Grades 9 and 10 each
International Studies student takes a course of study prescribed by the
International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program which includes at least one
foreign language, internationalized courses in English and Social Studies, and
specialized courses such as Multicultural Literature, Global Issues,
Comparative Religion, and Intercultural Communication. At the end of Grade 10, all International
Studies students may choose to enter either the academically rigorous
International Baccalaureate Diploma Program or the International Business
Program. Regardless of their choice,
each student will continue the study of their foreign language, be engaged in
internationalized classes and have opportunities to engage in a variety of
extracurricular activities including youth exchanges, hosting opportunities,
guest lectures, cultural events, Model
U.N. and Model Arab League.
