Williams Kicks Off Its Annual 25 Books Campaign Celebration
On October 31, Williams kicked off its annual 25 Books Campaign which challenges students to read at least that amount of books during the school year.  The students were amazed as they arrived at school to find teachers dressed as storybook characters. Little Red Riding Hood, Dora the Explorer, the Hotdog Halloweener and Loud Mouth Lucy, were among them. This spectacular event also featured storytellers Rob Cleveland and Mama Koku who entertained students with an array of fascinating folktales. The event ended with a parade led by members of the Douglass High School Marching Band. Students were elated as they marched through the community chanting this year's  Students were elated as they marched through the community chanting this year's 25 Book Campaign anthem, "A.D. Williams lets get live, we're going to read those twenty-five."

Williams Welcomes Two Principals for the Day
The students and staff would like to thank Carolyn Young with Good Works International and Nancy A. Flake Johnson, president and CEO of the Atlanta Urban League, Inc. for coming and sharing in the school's vision and mission on Oct. 26. Each read a copy of Who Moved My Cheesed for Kids by Spencer Johnson and  Christian Johnson to kindergarteners who thoroughlly enjoyed it.Their words of encouragement are everlasting and we look foward to building lasting relationships with both principals.
