Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
In 1985 Helen Ruffin, a media specialist from Dekalb County, began a game format competition so students from different schools had the opportunity to compete to test their knowledge of books nominated from the Georgia Children's Book Award program. This competition is designed to inspire and encourage students to read. This year marks the 14th annual county wide competition. It will take place on January 26, 2013 and Kimberly students are participating. Mrs. Bryant, a fifth grade teacher has a group of eager 5th grade students (5 competitors and 5 alternates) who have begun reading and preparing for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl. Good luck to our Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl students! We are cheering for you!
