SPARK After Dark
SPARK’s Annual Auction

PLEASE! Volunteer to help out. Volunteers are still needed to help with organizing and planning. Your time and talent is extremely valuable and will be greatly appreciated. Please contact Irma Seabrook or Julie Fenger or signup online. Even though the auction is in March, a lot of the work and planning must be done now.

Here is some important information you need to know:
Doors open and the silent auction start at 7:00 p.m. The silent auction will close by section beginning around 8:40 and all sections will be closed by 9:30. The live auction will begin at 9:00 and will be followed by dancing and other fun until 11:30.

What is SPARK After Dark? SPARK after DARK is one of Springdale Park’s largest fundraisers. It’s all about the adults of Springdale Park getting together for a relaxing night of socializing, eating, drinking, and dancing while bidding on great items to raise money for the school.

Why? Since SPARK's opening just four years ago, student enrollment has almost tripled from 260 students in 2009 to more than 640 students for the 2013-2014 school year. In that short time, SPARK has received the Platinum award for Student Achievement and was most recently recognized as a USDA Healthier US School and a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School. For the fourth year in a row, SPARK is one of the best-performing and most-sought-after elementary schools in the district and metro Atlanta area. These accomplishments are made possible by the hard work of our amazing staff and by the support of our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The PTO funds curriculum enhancements, teacher training and instructional tools that are critical components in maintaining the school's overall performance. All money collected from the auction will go directly towards:
  • Essential learning tools such as Saxon Phonics, Study Island, IXL Learning Programs, First in Math, Accelerated Reader, Writing Coaches, Star Reading and Star Math, and Computer Adaptive Science and ELA Assessments
  • Professional development and training to support our teachers including Math Solutions Training
  • STEM Curriculum Integration - training for teachers and educational opportunities for students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

How can I help?
There are plenty of ways to help – pick what best suits your skills and personality, but please choose at least one:
  1. Solicit donations
  2. Make a donation for the auction (week at a vacation home, business, special skill or service?)
  3. Help with set up day of auction
  4. Help with clean up day of auction
  5. Help with check in or check out during the auction
  6. Mark your calendar, line up your babysitter, buy tickets and come bid on the items 
  7. Donate to the fundraiser by purchasing a special ticket level that comes with perks, such as reserved parking.
